Everett Silvertips News Release
Everett, WA - Drew Owsley stopped all 32 Silvertips shots faced to lead the Tri-City Americans to a 3-0 win over Everett Friday night. Justin Feser picked up an assist and his 17th goal of the season to take home the second star of the night. Johnny Lazo grabbed the remaining goals for Tri-City, his 20th and 21st of the year. Kent Simpson made 37 saves in a solid effort to take home the night's third star.
Tri-City collected the first goal of the night, capitalizing on a Daniel Iwanski boarding call as Justin Feser picked up his 17th goal of the season. Feser found the puck amongst a scrum on top of the Everett crease, pulling the puck away and finding the back of the net at 9:30 for a 1-0 Americans lead. Special teams came through for Tri-City again, this time shorthanded. Johnny Lazo collected his 20th goal of the year when a Feser breakout led to a Tri-City 2 on 1. Feser fed Lazo the puck leading to a quick deke and the back of the net at 15:14.
Everett and Tri-City skated to a scoreless second period with the Americans outshooting the Silvertips 15-8.
Simpson was pulled at 18:00 of the third period for an extra attacker for Everett. Lazo picked up his second goal of the night firing a puck at the empty Everett net at 19:07 to seal a 3-0 victory.
This brings the âTips record to 18-13-2-1 with 39 points in 34 games played. Everett heads to Chilliwack tomorrow night for the final game before the holiday break to take on the Bruins at 7:35.
