Red Deer, AB.: The Edmonton Oil Kings head into the Christmas feeling blue after a 2-0 loss to the Red Deer Rebels. Goaltender Kraymer Barnstable made 24 saves in the Rebels net and earned his first shutout of the year.

The Rebels scored the only goal of the first, just under two minutes in, when Brad Haber set up Colten Mayer who buried a shot from the slot.

Red Deer extended their lead in the second when Turner Elson ripped a shot over Oil Kings goalie Torrie Jung's shoulder and just under the crossbar.

The Oil Kings (10-20-4-4) failed to score in the third and were shutout for the fourth time this year.

The Oil Kings next action is after the Christmas break and they will play the next two games at home. First up is the Lethbridge Hurricanes on December 29th. It is the one and only T-Shirt Tuesday of the season where you can get an Oil Kings T for $5. Then you can let the Oil Kings entertain you on New Years Eve with a fantastic indoor fireworks show. It is also a Thirsty Thursday where pop is $1 all night long. The Brandon Wheat Kings, the Memorial Cup hosts, will provide the opposition on December 31st.
