Allen Americans News Release
Allen, Texas - The two time Kelly Cup Champs opened the season with a 6-3 win over the Missouri Mavericks, on Saturday night at Allen Event Center, in front of a packed house of 5,062 at Allen Event Center.
Kale Kerbashian, was one of the big stars of the night for Allen scoring two goals in his return to North Texas, while last year's MVP Chad Costello had a goal and an assist to lead the Americans to victory.
"It was a great team win," said Chad Costello, who scored his first of the season in the third period just one minute into the final frame. "Overall we played a really solid game and Riley Gill shined in net."
Gill stopped 44 of 47 Missouri shots as the Mavericks marched back from a 4-1 third period deficit to cut the lead to 4-3, before Eric Roy's first of the season gave Allen a two-goal cushion. Kale Kerbashian scored his second of the game to make it 6-3, and Allen held on for the opening night victory.
The same two clubs meet Sunday afternoon at 4:05 pm at Allen Event Center. Tickets are on sale NOW at Allen Event Center Box Office or online at www.allenamericans.com . Call 972-912-1000 for more information.
