
Stingrays Announce 2016-17 Season Opening Roster

Meet the Team Monday, Oct. 17 During The Coach's Show at Wild Wing Cafe
NORTH CHARLESTON, SC â=88' The South Carolina Stingrays, proud affiliate of the Washington Capitals, have announced their season-opening roster in advance of its 2016-17 regular season opener on Saturday, Oct. 22 at the North Charleston Coliseum vs. the Greenville Swamp Rabbits. The game will start at 7:05 p.m. and all fans in attendance will receive a free 2016-17 schedule magnet.
Fans and media are invited to attend Monday Night Hockey, the official Coach's Show of the South Carolina Stingrays on Monday, Oct. 17 at Wild Wing Cafe at 7 p.m. The entire roster will be inattendance to meet with fans and sign autographs. The show will take place at Wild Wing Cafe's North Charleston location at 7618 Rivers Ave. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to score a seat near the stage and may enter to win great prizes.
The Stingrays roster consists of seven returning members from the 2015-16 season and 10 rookies. Six players are on American Hockey League (AHL) contracts with South Carolina's AHL affiliate, the Hershey Bears.

South Carolina will also host its annual alumni game in support of former player Adam Calder on Oct. 22 at 2 p.m. The event will serve as a lead-in to the team's season opener at 7:05 p.m. The Stingrays will welcome some new and familiar faces, including Hall of Fame members Trevor Johnson, Matt Scherer, Nate Kiser, Dave Seitz, Brett Marietti and Jason Fitzsimmons, who will all suit up for the annual contest. All players in the game will wear Calder's No. 25 jersey. The team is asking for a $10 cash donation at the door. Click here for more information on the Stingrays alumni game.
