Allen Americans News Release
Allen Texas- The Allen Americans won the first of three games against the Texas Brahmas this weekend capturing a 5-2 victory Friday night at the Allen Event Center.
Brian McMillin scored the only goal of the opening period, a shorthanded goal, his 14th of the year and only the second shorthanded goal of the season for the Americans. Allen took a 1-0 lead to the dressing room
The Americans used a three goal second period to grab a 4-0 lead. Jarret Lukin, Jeff Martens, and Ben Wilson all lit the lamp for Allen in the second. Lukin's goal was a deflection in front of the net off of the stick of Keith Johnson. It was Lukin's 19th of the season. Ben Wilson collected his first of the year.
The Americans added one more in the third as Colton Yellow Horn off of a great feed from Tyler Ludwig picked up his 24th of the year. Texas goalie Mark Guggenburger was pulled in favor of backup netminder Ken Carroll. The Brahmas cut the Allen lead to three after back to back goals from Ross Rouleau less than two minutes apart, however the Americans would hold on for a 5-2 win.
Bruce Graham made his return to the Allen lineup after missing over a month due to injury. Reggie Beauchemin made his second straight start for Allen picking up the win. The same two clubs square off tomorrow night at 7:05 PM at the Allen Event Center. Tickets are available at www.allenamericans.com.
