Wichita, Kansas - The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, shut out the Wichita Thunder on Tuesday night by a score of 2-0 in front of a crowd of 2,806 at Intrust Bank Arena.

After a scoreless first period, the Americans would score the only goal they would need on Tuesday night as Riley Bourbonnais scored shorthanded for his 13th of the season to put the Americans up 1-0.

The Americans added another at 6:53 of the third period, when Alex Breton took a pass from Spencer Asuchak in front of the net and ripped a one-timer past Ty Rimmer for his 9th of the year to make it a 2-0 game.

Kyle Hayton was the big star of the night for Allen, as the rookie netminder recorded his first professional shutout to lead the Americans to victory stopping all 33 shots he faced. Both teams went 0 for 3 on the power play.

Allen played the game tonight without the ECHL's leading goal scorer Zach Pochiro, who missed the game with an upper body injury.
