NORFOLK, VA - Callum Booth made 17 saves on 17 shots as the Reading Royals topped the Norfolk Admirals Wednesday Night at Scope. Chris McCarthy led the Royals with a three-point night for Reading.

Reading jumped out in front late in the first period with a goal from Adam Schmidt. Frank DiChara gathered the puck at the left point. DiChara played it to the right point for Chris McCarthy. McCarthy fired a shot towards the net that went past the pad of Reichenbach. The puck took a lively bounce off the back boards right to McCarthy at the side of the net, who was able to maneuver around the sprawled Reichenbach and knock the puck into the goal to give Reading a 1-0 lead at 17:21 of the first period.

Reading extended its lead to two goals with a power-play goal from Steve Johnson. McCarthy played the puck at the center point and fed a pass into the right circle for Schmidt. Schmidt played a pass between the circles for Johnson who fired a shot over the shoulder of Reichenbach to extend the Reading lead to 2-0 at 12:08 of the second period.

Reading would add a late empty-net goal from Brayden Low to secure the 3-0 win.

Ty Reichenbach was solid as he made 36 saves on 38 shots and take s the loss for Norfolk, while Callum Booth made 17 saves on 17 shots and gets the win for Reading.
