Wichita 12, Pensacola 5

Wichita CF Ryan Patterson finished 3-for-5 with two home runs and seven RBI to power Wichita to a 12-5 slamming of Pensacola. Patterson knocked a pair of three-run homers in the game, and helped erase an early 3-1 deficit. Setting the table for Patterson were SS Joe Spiers and RF Jorge Cortes at the top of the lineup, who combined to smash five hits and cross the plate six times. Wingnuts starter Adam Cowart picked up the win by allowing one earned runs in 5.2 innings, and the bullpen surrendered just one run the rest of the way.

Grand Prairie 11, El Paso 9

Grand Prairie utilized a balanced offensive attack and scored three times in the top of the eighth to top El Paso 11-9 in a back-and-forth affair. The Diablos jumped out to a 4-0 lead thanks to a three-run first inning homer by DH Kyle Nichols, but lost the lead when the AirHogs tallied six runs in the bottom of the fourth. El Paso reclaimed the lead in the sixth when CF Jeff Vincent knocked another three-run homer. But in the bottom of the eighth, Grand Prairie evened the score and then took the lead when DH Jason Stokes knocked in 2B Antoin Gray, who finished the game with three hits and two runs scored. In total, the AirHogs pounded 16 hits, including contributions from five hitters who tallied multiple hits in the game.

Sioux Falls 4, Lincoln 1

Sioux Falls capitalized on a masterful pitching performance by Ryan Shaver and three relievers to down Lincoln 4-1. Shaver didn't allow an earned run in six innings to improve to 7-0, and Aaron Cotter worked a perfect ninth to earn his 19th save. In support of the pitching, the Pheasant offense got on the board in the first with an RBI single from LF Beau Torbert, the league's leading run producer, and got a go-ahead run-scoring single from CF Reggie Abercrombie, who had three hits in the game, in the fifth. The Pheasants added an unearned run in the seventh and another tally in the eighth when 3B Trevor Lawhorn hit his 15th home run of the season. In the loss, Lincoln stranded 11 base runners and couldn't muster any support for starter Nick Tyson, who allowed just two earned runs over seven innings.
