St. Paul starting pitcher Tom Buske allowed one unearned run on four hits while striking out two in 7 2/3 innings, but did not factor in the decision. Instead it was reliever Mike Bille who earned the win, his second of the season. Fellow reliever Kyle Foster came on to wiggle out of the ninth to earn his first save. Savage's counterpart, Lincoln starter Justin Knoff pitched well also, but he too did not factor in the decision. Instead it was Wichita reliever Justin Young that picked up the win, his second of the season. Thompson led the way at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a double, his 32nd of the season, and three runs scored, including the game winner.
