Sioux City's pitching staff held Sioux Falls to just three hits in the game and the Explorers spoiled a great start from Canaries starter Jino Gonzalez to come away with a 4-0 win. The game was scoreless through six innings until Sioux City managed an unearned run off Gonzalez, the only run he allowed, to take a 1-0 lead. The Explorers added three runs the very next inning and rolled to victory. Sioux City reliever Mike Phelps was credited with his first win. He did not allow a hit and walked one in three scoreless innings.

Lincoln 6, Wichita 3

Lincoln fell behind 3-1 entering the bottom of the sixth inning, but rallied for three runs to go up 4-3 and went on from there to a 6-3 win. Saltdogs starting pitcher Zach Cline allowed two runs in the second inning, but settled down to earn his fifth win. He allowed three runs on eight hits in six innings of work. Lincoln SS Albenis Machado led the way at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored and a RBI. Lincoln 3B Brandon Jones added a two-run homer, his sixth of the season. He was 1-for-4.

Pensacola 8, St. Paul 6

Pensacola LF Adam Darby was 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBI to lead the Pelicans to victory over St. Paul. Pensacola CF Francisco Leandro and C Lou Palmisano each had three hits as well and combined to score three runs in the victory. Pelicans starting pitcher Kyle Middleton allowed three earned runs on eight hits and struck out five in seven innings of work to pick up his fifth win. Pensacola closer Hunter Davis allowed a run in the ninth, but hung on for his 14th save.

Shreveport-Bossier 6, Grand Prairie 4

Shreveport-Bossier scored two runs in the top of the ninth inning to break a 4-4 tie and come away with the win on the road. Captains LF Jose Torres led the way offensively, going 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI. Shreveport-Bossier C Kevin Griffin also had a good game at the plate. He was 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI. Captains reliever Matt Petty picked up his third win thanks to 1 2/3 scoreless innings. Shreveport-Bossier closer Justin Dowdy tossed a scoreless ninth to earn his 11th save.

El Paso 5, Fort Worth 3 (13 innings)

El Paso C Eddy Rodriguez belted a two-out, two-run double to break a 3-3 tie in top of the 13th inning in leading the Diablos to a 5-3 win. Rodriguez finished the game 3-for-7. Two other Diablos hitters recorded three-hit games, including LF Jorge Alvarez, who was 3-for-6 with a run scored. Fort Worth LF John Allen led all hitters. He was 4-for-7 with two doubles and two RBI in the losing effort.
