Pensacola 7, St. Paul 6 (13 Innings)

In a game that took nearly 4 1/2 hours and saw 38 total hits, Pensacola scratched out a run in the bottom of the 13th inning to outlast St. Paul 7-6. After a scoreless eighth and ninth inning, St. Paul looked to finish it with a solo homer from Jacob Butler in the top of the 10th. But the Pelicans put together three hits in their half of the frame to extend the game. Pensacola got contributions from their entire lineup but SS Luis Guance stood out with a 4-for-6 effort. Butler also went 4-for-6 for the Saints as did RF Brent Krause who drove in two. Pelicans closer Hunter Davis went the final 2 1/3 innings and got the win. Kerry Ligtenberg had an extended appearance as well going 3 2/3 innings. He took the loss.

Grand Prairie 7, Shreveport-Bossier 6

DH Chad Gabriel singled home 3B Cesar Nicolas with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning to give Grand Prairie a 7-6 walkoff win over Shreveport-Bossier. The Captains had rallied from a 6-4 deficit with single runs in the eighth and ninth innings to tie the game. The teams combined to use nine pitchers with each team's closer on the mound in the final frame. Grand Prairie SS Brandon Carter was a catalyst all night as he finished 2-for-3 with two walks and four runs scored. The number two through six hitters in the Airhogs batting order were lethal as they combined to go 9-for-19 with six RBI, four walks, and seven runs scored. Captains LF Jose Torres finished 4-for-4 in a losing effort.

El Paso 6, Ft. Worth 3

El Paso rallied from a 3-0 deficit with six unanswered runs to earn a 6-3 victory over Ft. Worth. SS Arnoldo Ponce drove in three runs for the Diablos and CF Kennard Bibbs went 2-for-4 with two runs scored to pace the El Paso offense. LF John Allen drove in all of Ft. Worth's runs as he launched his ninth homer of the year in the bottom of the fifth. Reliever Bryan Villalona picked up the victory for El Paso by tossing three scoreless innings in which he allowed just one hit.

Lincoln 4, Wichita 2

@ Lincoln, NE. Time: 2:44 Attendance: 3,889

Lincoln used a combination of timely hitting and solid pitching to double up Wichita by a score of 4-2. Saltdogs starter Tim Brown went six innings and allowed just one run on five hits before relievers Jim Paduch and Chris Thompson worked the final three innings to secure the victory. Paduch tossed two innings and allowed a run on two hits before Thompson worked a 1-2-3 ninth inning for his 18th save. Offensively for Lincoln, SS Albenis Machado set the table with a 2-for-3 night at the plate and LF Pichi Balet drove in three runs as part of a 2-for-4 effort.

Sioux Falls 9, Sioux City 8

@ Sioux Falls, SD. Time: 2:55 Attendance: 3,697

HR: SF- Tim Hutting (3); SC- Greg Stevens (1), Jason Colson (3)

With the game tied 8-8 in the bottom of the ninth inning, Sioux Falls RF Cory Harris drove a ball off the left-centerfield wall to score 2B Joe Anthonsen from second base and give the Canaries a 9-8 win over Sioux City. The Canaries led at one point 5-0 but Sioux City rallied twice to take a lead before the Canaries answered back. Anthonsen finished 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBI. Sioux Falls SS Tim Hutting homered, drove in three and scored twice. 1B Jason Colson homered and drove in three for the Explorers who saw their lead in the North Division trimmed to just a one game.
