The Grand Prairie AirHogs scored nine runs in the third inning to break open a tight game and beat the Shreveport-Bossier Captains. LF Noel Trevino led the AirHogs at the plate going 4-for-5 with two runs scored and three RBI. Grand Prairie CF Aaron Garza and 1B Cesar Nicolas each had three-hit days at the plate with Nicolas hitting his first home run of the season. AirHogs starting pitcher Matt Green picked up the win to even his record at 1-1. Green went seven innings allowing two earned runs on eight hits with seven strikeouts. Captains CF Jonathan Reynoso went 2-for-4 in the losing cause.

Fort Worth Cats starter Aaron Crow and DH John Allen lead the way in the Cats win over the Sioux City Explorers Wednesday afternoon. Crow, the league's Pitcher of the Week, pitched another solid game going six innings giving up only three hits while fanning four. He is now 2-0 on the year. Allen at the plate went a perfect 4-for-4 which included hitting his first home run of the season. CF Brian Fryer, 2B Isa Garcia and LF Aljay Davis each had two hits for Fort Worth.

3B Roberto Mejia and 2B Hector Bernal each had huge days at the dish as the El Paso Diablos got past the Pensacola Pelicans in a slugfest. Mejia and Bernal went a combined 8-for-10 with two runs scored and seven RBI. El Paso reliever Joe Klein evened his record up at 1-1 with the victory pitching 1 1/3 innings giving up one walk and three hits. 1B Luis Bautista went 4-for-5 with a run scored and a RBI for Pensacola.

The game between the Lincoln Saltdogs and St. Paul Saints was still in progress with the Saltdogs leading the Saints 9-7 in the bottom of the eighth inning.
