The Coastal Bend Aviators break a 2-2 tie with a run in the top of the ninth inning to beat the Pensacola Pelicans on the road. Both starting pitchers, Pedro Flores of Coastal Bend and Colin Young of Pensacola, each had solid outings but neither factor in the decision. Aviators' reliever Tim Haines evened up his record at 5-5 with the win pitching 1 1/3 innings of shutout baseball. Coastal Bend closer Tom Atlee pitched the ninth inning and had two strikeouts en route to his 17th save of the season. SS Ryan Smith led the Aviators at the plate with a 1-for-3 night and scoring two runs.

St. Paul 8, Sioux City 4

St. Paul scored four runs in the first inning and rolled from there to double up the Sioux City Explorers. The win by the Saints pushes their lead in the North Division to two games over Sioux City. St. Paul leadoff hitter Demetrius Heath, LF Brian Sprout and C Kevin Sullivan combined to go 9-for-15 at the plate with four runs scored and a RBI. Saints C Marcel Longmire chipped in with his 13th home run of the season in a 1-for-3 night. St. Paul starter Alec Sheppard notches his seventh win of the year going seven solid innings allowing two earned runs on eight hits with two walks and five strikeouts.

El Paso 6, Shreveport 3

HR: SH-Deacon Burns (5); EL-Walter Olmstead (10)

El Paso plated three runs in the third inning to overcome an early 2-0 deficit and go on to win by three runs over the Shreveport Sports. Player of the Week DH Jorge Alvarez and 1B Walter Olmstead combined to 7-for-8 at the plate with three runs scored and three runs driven in. Olmstead launched his 10th dinger of the season in the process for the Diablos. Mike Cervera goes to 4-1 on the year with a six inning performance allowing three runs, two earned, on six hits with six strikeouts. For the Sports in the losing effort, leadoff hitter Deacon Burns went 3-for-5 with a run scored and two RBI, including his fifth home run of the season.

Lincoln 6, Sioux Falls 2

Lincoln 3B Jay Yaconetti has a perfect night at the plate in helping the Saltdogs beat the Sioux Falls Canaries at Haymarket Park. Yaconetti on the night went 3-for-3 with two singles, a double and a run scored. Lincoln leadoff hitter Seth Pietsch, 2B Josh Patton and C Joe Dempsey each collected two hits as well to add to the Saltdogs attack. Dan Reichert has a solid night on the mound for the Saltdogs as he goes seven innings allowing only an earned run on seven hits with nine big strikeouts. Reichert is now 7-5 on the season. 2B Casey Gordon was 2-for-4 include hitting his third homer of the season for Sioux Falls.

Fort Worth 5, St. Joe 3 (10 innings)

A RBI single by DH Marc Mirizzi and a sacrifice fly by CF Jordan Foster plates two runs in the top of the 10th inning to lead the Fort Worth Cats to victory over St. Joe. The Cats were down 3-1 heading to the ninth inning but they scored two runs in the ninth to tie the game at 3-3 and then two more in the 10th to get the win. Grant Varnell notches the win in relief for Fort Worth going 2 2/3 innings allowing only a hit with a strikeout. The Cats were led offensively by 3B Terence Green and RF John Molyneux who each had two hit nights.
