A sensational pitching performance by Shreveport starter Colby Miller leads the Sports past the Sioux Falls Canaries. Miller went the distance giving up only four hits and a walk while striking out seven batters. Miller improves his record to 3-9 on the year. DH Chad Gambill and C Tommy Bryant led the way for the Sports offensively as each went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a run driven in. Shreveport RF JP Schmidt stole his league leading 34th base in a 1-for-4 effort today. For the Canaries, Pat Mahomes was the tough luck loser as he allowed only two earned runs on six hits with a walk and 12 strikeouts. He falls to 8-3 on the season.

3B Ben Thomas and SS Skip Adams have solid days at the plate in leading St. Paul past Lincoln. Thomas and Adams on the day combined to go 5-for-8 at the dish with three runs scored and five runs driven in. Adam Brandenburg picked up the victory for St. Paul as he went five innings allowing three runs, all earned, on seven hits with three walks and a strikeout. Brandenburg's record now stands at 6-2 on the season. For the Lincoln Saltdogs, the 1-2 hitters of LF Seth Pietsch and SS Pichi Balet went 6-for-9 with three runs scored and two RBI. RF Bryan Warner also added his eighth home run in a 2-for-4 effort.
