American Association Pitcher of the Week Randy Beam had a great outing to lead the Pelicans to a 5-2 win at home. Beam allowed two runs on five hits and struck out six in eight innings of work to earn his sixth win of the season. Pensacola DH Chase Burch led the way offensively, going 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored and a RBI. Pelicans closer Hunter Davis struck out one in a scoreless ninth to earn his 13th save.

Grand Prairie got an outstanding outing from starting pitcher Dimitri Camareno and rolled to an easy win against Shreveport-Bossier. Camareno allowed one run on three hits while striking out four in eight innings of work to collect his second win of the season. AirHogs 3B Cesar Nicolas led the way at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and a RBI. Grand Prairie DH Chad Gabriel chipped in with a 1-for-4 night and drove in two runs.

Fort Worth 8, El Paso 1

Fort Worth 1B John Allen hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning and the Cats rolled to an 8-1 win. The home run was Allen's only hit in the contest, but the first three hitters in the Cats' lineup combined for six of the team's 10 hits. Fort Worth's number two hitter, SS Cameron Blair, led the way, going 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and two RBI. All that run support was more than enough for starting pitcher Joel Kirsten, who allowed one unearned run on just two hits in eight innings to improve to 6-4 on the season.

Sioux City 8, Sioux Falls 4

The Sioux City Explorers broke a 4-4 tie with three runs in the eighth inning and went on to an 8-4 victory. Sioux City 1B Jason Colson led the way at the plate, going 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI. Explorers CF Dustin Jones also had a good game, going 1-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI. Sioux City reliever David Trahan allowed a run in two innings and picked up his fifth win of the season in relief.
