Wichita 3, Sioux Falls 2 (Game 1 - 7 innings)

Wichita starting pitcher Derek Blacksher allowed two runs on eight hits in 5 1/3 innings to lead the Wingnuts to a 3-2 win in game one of the doubleheader. With the victory, Blacksher runs his mark to 6-2 on the season. Leading the way offensively for Wichita was LF Greg Porter who was 2-for-3 with a RBI. Wingnuts CF Nick Blasi also had a good game at the plate, going 1-for-2 with a double and a pair driven in. Sioux Falls 2B Joe Anthonsen was 3-for-4 with a run scored to lead all hitters in the losing effort.

Wichita 6, Sioux Falls 0 (Game 2 - 7 innings)

HR: None

Brad Davis tossed a complete game shutout to complete a sweep of the doubleheader for Wichita and even his record at 5-5 in the process. Davis allowed just two hits and struck out five. Wingnuts 3B Michael Thompson provided Davis with more than enough support. Thompson was 2-for-3 in the game with three RBI. Wichita SS Josh Horn led all hitters, going 3-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base.

Fort Worth 5, St. Paul 3

@ Fort Worth, TX. Time: 2:43 Attendance: 2,032 W: Nat Harris (3-3) L: Brandon Kintzler (8-3) S: Gary Lee (5) HR: None

The Fort Worth Cats took a 4-0 lead in the second inning and made it hold up as they rolled to a 5-3 win at home. Leading the way at the plate for the Cats was 2B Isa Garcia. Garcia was 2-for-2 with a double, a run scored and two RBI. RF Ryan Patterson also had a good game, going 2-for-4 with a run scored and a RBI. All but one hitter in the Fort Worth starting lineup recorded at least one hit. Fort Worth reliever Nat Harris picked up the win after taking over in the fifth inning and holding St. Paul scoreless for 2 1/3 innings. Cats reliever Gary Lee struck out a pair in a 1-2-3 ninth to earn his fifth save.

Lincoln 7, Sioux City 2

The Lincoln Saltdogs scored twice in the first inning and never trailed en route to a 7-2 win on the road. Saltdogs starting pitcher Jarrett Gardner had a great outing, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out six in seven innings to earn the win and improve to 7-4 on the season. Lincoln LF Pichi Balet led the way at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three RBI. Saltdogs CF Josh Burrus and 2B Shea McFeely were each 2-for-5 with a run scored and a RBI. Lincoln reliever Daryl Arreola worked the game's final 1 1/3 innings, striking out a pair, to earn his second save.

Shreveport-Bossier picked up a 3-2 win in a home game that was shortened to five innings due to rain. Captains starting pitcher Ronald Lowe was credited with the win to improve his record to 5-5. Lowe went the distance, allowing two runs on six hits. Shreveport-Bossier 3B Andres Rodriguez led the way at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a triple, a run scored and a RBI. Pensacola 2B Antoin Gray was 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in the losing effort.
