Cleburne 2, St. Paul 0 - Box Score
The Cleburne Railroaders (9-7) held the St. Paul Saints to just five hits on the way to a 2-0 win.
The Railroaders took the lead in the bottom of the first inning when CF Zach Nehrir hit a solo home run, his third of 2019. Nehrir also scored the game's only other run after SS Angel Rosa bounced out in the sixth inning. Nehrir and Rosa each had two hits for Cleburne and four other Railroaders each added one hit apiece.
For the Saints, 1B Devon Rodriguez went 2-for-4.
Starting pitcher Jesus Sanchez (2-2) was tabbed as the winner after throwing six innings and allowing just two hits and striking out one batter.
Chicago 3, Sioux City 1 - Box Score
The Chicago Dogs (10-4) edged past the Sioux City Explorers 3-1 in a pitcher's duel where the two teams combined for just eight hits.
Two big swings in the bottom of the second inning but the Dogs firmly in control of the contest. LF Kelly Dugan (2-for-3) hit a leadoff home run and three batters later, 3B Jordan Dean added a solo shot of his own. In the fourth, Dugan scored his second run of the game when RF Victor Roache singled to center.
The Explorers' lone run came in the final inning when DH Luke Bonfield lifted a sacrifice fly to center that plated Nate Samson.
Starter Jake Dahlberg (2-0) earned the win on the bump for allowing just four hits in seven innings and striking out six.
Gary SouthShore 3, Kansas City 1 - Box Score
The Gary SouthShore RailCats (8-6) claimed their third win in a row with a 3-1 win against the Kansas City T-Bones and look to grab their first sweep of 2019 on Sunday.
The RailCats drew first blood in the top of the fourth as 3B Thomas Walraven (2-for-4) stole home. In the fifth, DH Sean Guida hit an RBI single that plated 2B Andy DeJesus (2-for-4) and RF Colin Willis (2-for-4) scored on a sac fly from CF Evan Marzilli in the sixth. Those three runs proved to be enough as the T-Bones' only run came in the bottom of the ninth when 1B Carlos Franco scored on an error.
For the T-Bones, RF Casey Gillaspie and 3B Mikey Reynolds each had a pair of hits.
After throwing six innings and giving up just four hits and striking out a pair, starter Trevor Lubking picked up the win.
Sioux Falls 7, Winnipeg 5 - Box Score
The Sioux Falls Canaries (7-8) held off a late push from the Winnipeg Goldeyes to claim a 7-5 win at home on Saturday.
A CF Brett Vertigan leadoff home run in the bottom of the fourth opened the scoring but a sac fly from 1B Kevin Garcia levelled the score in the top of fifth. That tie lasted only a couple of outs as 1B Jordan Ebert hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the frame and RF Clint Coulter added a grand slam later in the inning.
The Goldeyes rallied late as SS Adrian Marin and James Harris (2-for-3) pushed in runs in the seventh and Harries added a two-run homer in the ninth. After Harris' blast, Garcia was retired to end the game.
C Mike Hart and 2B Alay Lago each had a pair of hits for the Canaries. Starting pitcher Alex Boshers (2-1) earned the win after working seven innings and allowing three runs on six hits while striking out three batters.
Fargo-Moorhead 5. Texas 1 - Box Score
The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (9-7) made the most of their five hits on Saturday as they topped the Texas AirHogs 5-1.
In the top of the fourth, C Brian Olson broke the seal on the game's scoring with a single that plated DH Chris Jacobs and 2B T.J. Bennett. In the seventh, Jacobs added three runs to the lead with a three-run home run, his fourth dinger of the year. RF Tim Colwell was the only batter for either team to have a pair of hits.
Texas scored its only run in the bottom of the fifth inning when SS Yang Jin singled and the left fielder committed an error, opening the door for RF Han Xiao to reach the plate.
