BROWNELL'S K'S, SIX-RUN FOURTH HIGHLIGHT AIRHOGS 8-4 WIN OVER EL PASO
May 22 Afternoon Recap
Grand Prairie 8, El Paso 4
The Grand Prairie AirHogs rode a six-run fourth inning on their way to an 8-4 victory over the El Paso Diablos this afternoon. Grand Prairie 3B Andres Rodriguez initially tied the game on an RBI ground out that scored 2B Bridger Hunt. Four batters later, C Chris McMurray broke the deadlock with a three-run home run to give Grand Prairie a 5-2 lead. McMurray's home run puts him into a tie for the league lead with three. McMurray, however, was not the only productive Grand Prairie hitter. Every AirHog in the lineup recorded a hit and all but one scored a run. Three AirHogs, Hunt, Rodriguez and 1B Trent Lockwood, had multi-hit games. On the defensive side, Grand Prairie RHP John Brownell (pictured) struck out an AirHogs season-high eight batters over seven innings to earn the victory. Grand Prairie has now won three straight, to improve to 4-2 and remain atop the South Division.
