Alumnus Matt McCartney's Band Northern Roads to Play in Peterborough on Thursday

(Peterborough, ON) - Peterborough Petes alumnus Matt McCartney and his band Northern Roads will perform the National Anthem during the game on Thursday, November 5 against the North Bay Battalion.

In addition to performing O, Canada, Northern Roads will play a free show following the game at Mark's Finer Diner at 128 Lansdowne St. E. The show will start after 9:30pm on Thursday night, and will take place in the Upstairs@Mark's area.

The alternative rock band based out of Toronto features McCartney (percussion, guitar, vocals), who played 125 regular season and playoff games with the Petes, his brother Mitch McCartney (guitar, vocals), Connor Allen (lead vocals), and Rob Almeida (guitar, vocals). Their sound has been compared to that of Mumford & Sons and The Lumineers.

Northern Roads has performed at Boots and Hearts, the CMAO Road to Independence Conference, Canadian New Music Week and more. The band will play a live acoustic set on Fresh Radio 100.5 on Thursday morning at 8:45am.
