
Alouettes Training Camp Day One

Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, May 25, 2003 - The Alouettes started training camp on the Fort Saint-Jean Campus under the rain today. It's the seventh consecutive year that the Alouettes prepare their season on this campus.
Over 600 fans
Despite the heavy rain, over 600 fans attended the opening day of training camp for the Grey Cup Champions. Hot-dogs were served after practice.
The President was on site
Montreal Alouettes' President Mr. Ellis Prince was on site to encourage his troups. Rumours said he would be trying out at cornerback.
Crowd favorites
The Alouettes were introduced to the fans after practice and the crowd favorites who enjoyed the warmest welcome were Anthony Calvillo, Bruno Heppell, Barron Miles, Ben Cahoon, Bryan Chiu, Sylvain Girard and of course, Head Coach Don Matthews.
Gone!
Guard Paul Archer decided to leave training camp. The Alouettes' fourth-round draft pick (36th overall) could return to St.Mary's where he has one year of eligibility left.
