Montreal Alouettes News Release

Montréal, MontrealAlouettes.com - This Sunday, for the 11th consecutive year, fans will get to see their favourite Alouettes as part of Montreal's annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. The event will feature, amongst many others, a float featuring Alouettes' players, cheerleaders and the mascot side by side with a group of minor football players.

This year, players will be in two vintage 'Mercedes Unibogs' vehicles. Offensive tackles Dave Mudge and Uzooma Okeke, receivers Dave Stala and Shaun Diner, defensive tackle Steve Charbonneau, safety Matthieu Proulx and guard Scott Flory will be part of the event and will be accompanied by cheerleaders Julie, Elizabeth and Sonia, and mascot Touché.

For the second year in a row, the Alouettes have invited minor football players from Alouettes community programs, the Junior Camps and the Alouettes Classic, to join the Alouettes players.

This year, Montreal celebrates its Irish roots and the coming of spring for a 183rd time. More than 100,000 people are expected to celebrate along with the Alouettes and to join in on the festive atmosphere. This event is one of the most family-oriented events the city has to offer and the Alouettes are proud to participate.

The St. Patrick's day parade will start at noon, this Sunday, Mar. 18., on Ste. Catherine Street between du Fort and St-Urbain.
