
Alouettes Add Montrealer To Roster

Montreal, May 10, 2010 - Montreal Alouettes' Vice President and General Manager Jim Popp announced today that non-import defensive lineman/long snapper Patrick MacDonald and Montreal-born defensive back Steven Holness have both signed for the 2010 season.
Holness (5'11'', 190 lbs) recorded two defensive tackles and 10 special teams tackles in 19 games with the Blue Bombers over the last two seasons. He played four years with the Ottawa Gee-Gees, including two as a starter, registering 40 defensive tackles and four sacks in 15 games. He is 26.
MacDonald (6'2'', 250 lbs) joins the Alouettes following a tryout with the Seattle Seahawks in 2010. He played 13 games with the Blue Bombers in 2009, recording one defensive tackle and five special teams tackles. He won the 2008 Grey Cup with the Stampeders after being drafted in the third round by Calgary in 2007. He also had stints with the Carolina Panthers and the New Orleans Saints. He is 28.
