
Allan Houston Celebrity Softball Game Comes to Bridgeport September 13

(Bridgeport, Conn. - August 17, 2015) - The Bridgeport Bluefish today announced that they will host the Allan Houston Celebrity Softball Game on Sunday, September 13that The Ballpark at Harbor Yard. Allan Houston, the host of this special softball game, is a former professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 1993-2005.
The game will be a 7-inning charity contest to support Dylan's Wings of Change. Dylan's Wings of Change is a foundation established to honor the memory of Dylan Hockley, who was killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14th, 2012. The foundation's mission is to help children with autism and other related conditions achieve their full potential.
"We are very grateful to the Bridgeport Bluefish and Allan Houston for this opportunity", says Ian Hockley, father of Dylan and Project Director for Dylan's Wings of Change. "The funds raised will be devoted to expanding the baseball and softball opportunities for children with special needs in southwestern Connecticut, working in partnership with the Bridgeport Bluefish and community leaders."
Allan Houston will be playing in the softball game, along with Steve Vavrek, the First Selectman of the Town of Monroe, CT, and Kim Lucey, WFSB Channel 3 news reporter and anchor. More celebrity players will be announced in the coming weeks.
Game time on Sunday, September 13 will be 5:00 p.m., with the gates to The Ballpark at Harbor Yard opening at 4:00 p.m. There will be a pre-game autograph session on the field before the game. There will also be a post-game VIP Meet & Greet reception, where you can meet all of the celebrity participants.
