The best and the brightest from throughout the Golden Baseball League will be in Chico Tuesday, July 18th for the first-ever GBL All-Star Game...and besides seeing the top players from the Chico Outlaws, Reno Silver Sox, Yuma Scorpions, Fullerton Flyers, Long Beach Armada and San Diego Surf Dawgs go head-to-head at Nettleton Stadium, there are plenty of other exciting events scheduled!
Gates will open at 5:00p with pre-game festivities including a special autograph session beginning at 5:40pm, followed by the GBL home run hitting contest, featuring the top sluggers in the league (including former American League MVP Jose Canseco).
To add even more family fun, J&R Sports Card of Chico - the only full-service sports card hobby shop between Sacramento and Oregon - will be hosting a special fan booth just inside the stadium's main entrance. You're invited to stop by, and be sure to bring your baseball cards - J&R's experts will be offering free card appraisals, plus giving away free "National Trading Card Day" packs. Have the kids bring their report cards to the J&R booth, and they'll receive and extra-special card pack.
