
All-Star Catchers Go Deep in Loss to Kannapolis

Hickory, NC-The 'Dads fell to the Kannapolis Intimidators 6-4 in a Wednesday matinee. After the Crawdads picked up a win last night, the series is tied at a game each.
Kannapolis got on the board with a run in the second. They added on to their lead with four more runs off 'Dads righty Noah Bremer in the fourth inning. Bremer finished the morning with four innings, eight hits, five runs (four of them earned) allowed, and five strikeouts.
Center fielder Bubba Thompson led off the 'Dads half of the sixth inning with a single. He got himself in scoring position with his sixth stolen base of the season. Yohel Pozo brought Thompson around to score with a single to center.
The 'Dads cut Kannapolis' deficit again in the seventh. Tyreque Reed hit a double down the left field line to start the inning. Sam Huff crushed a homerun to left field that brought the score to 5-3. The homerun was Huff's sixth of the season, which ties him for the team lead.
Kannapolis added a run back in the top of the eight but the 'Dads responded with a homerun by Pozo that brought the score to 6-4.
The series will wrap up on tomorrow evening at 7pm with a 40thAnniversary of the movie Grease celebration. Fans who dress up as their favorite character will get a free ticket to the game. It is also Teacher Appreciation Night so teachers who show their school ID can get a free ticket. Drinks will be discounted throughout the night as part of Thirsty Thursday. DJ Curtis Brown will be taking the stage for the post-game Thirsty Thursday concert presented by Cody Law Firm.
