ABOUT LAST GAME: Columbia opened up its series against Charleston with a 5-1 loss. Lefty starter Jake Simon was still splendid for the Fireflies, allowing just one unearned run over five innings of work. Simon struck out four and did not walk anyone.
STREAKIN': Outfielder Raphael Gladu extended his franchise-record hit streak to 19 straight games on Tuesday. Gladu's 19-game streak is the longest in all of low-A baseball in 2018 and one of the longest active streaks in professional baseball. Gladu is hitting .377 (26-for-69) during the hit streak.

GOING YARD: Matt Winaker clubbed his third home run of the season in the opener on Tuesday. It was the third of the season for Winaker. The former Stanford Cardinal slugged nine homers in 58 games during his junior season in 2017 before being selected by the Mets in the fifth round.
MULTI-HITTERS: Three of Columbia's leaders in multi-hit games are in the lineup tonight vs. Charleston.
