Edmonton Oil Kings News Release
(Edmonton, AB) - Edmonton Oil Kings defenceman Jacson Alexander will have season-ending surgery to treat an upper-body injury, the Club announced on Thursday.
"After receiving a diagnosis from members of our medical staff, Jacson and his family have decided the best course of action is to elect for immediate surgery," said Oil Kings President of Hockey Operations and General Manager, Kirt Hill.
"Having the surgery now will unfortunately sideline Jacson for the rest of the 2019-20 season, but will give him every opportunity to be recovered and in peak form for the beginning of the 2020-21 campaign."
Alexander ('01) sustained the injury in practice near the end of January. He is in his second season as a member of the Oil Kings after being acquired in a trade with the Swift Current Broncos on August 21, 2018.
