GREENEVILLE, Tn - Evan Alexander homered for the first time this season, and Pedro Barrios tossed six scoreless frames from the mound en route to a 3-1 Pulaski Yankees win over the Greeneville Reds on Sunday evening.

All of Pulaski's scoring occurred in the third inning against Reds' pitcher A.J. Moore. After David Metzgar led off the inning with a single, Evan Alexander bombed a deep fly ball over the right center field fence to give the Yankees a 2-0 lead. Next at bat, Robert Javier singled and later advanced to scoring position on a wild pitch. Ezequiel Duran drove in Javier with a RBI double to open Pulaski's lead to 3-0.

The Yankees pitching staff was masterful once more, headlined by Pedro Barrios. He improved his record on the season to 2-0 after departing the game with six scoreless innings tossed, allowing four hits, one walk and six strikeouts. Brett Morales entered the game and recorded the final nine outs for his first save of the season. Justin Bellinger opened the bottom of the ninth inning with a double for Greeneville, and scored his team's only run courtesy of a RBI groundout by Nate Scantlin.

Pulaski snapped a three-game losing skid with the victory and brought their record to 17-22 on the season. Following a league-wide off day on Monday, the Pulaski Yankees return to action on Tuesday for their final game of July. The Yanks kick off a six-game homestand with the series opener against the Burlington Royals. Enjoy $2 tacos at Calfee Park as a part of Taco Tuesday sponsored by MasTec & Virginia 811.
