
Alex Lavoie Wins CHL Rookie of the Year

Allen, Texas - The Central Hockey League announced today that Allen Americans forward, Alex Lavoie has been named the 2013-2014 CHL Rookie of the Year.
Lavoie, currently on loan to the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League, leads all rookies in scoring with 76 points, 25 goals and 51 assists. He is seventh overall in the CHL in scoring and seventh in assists.
"He's been exactly what we thought he would be," said Allen Americans Head Coach and GM Steve Martinson. "Leading the league in rookie scoring and getting an opportunity to play at the American Hockey League level just backs up what our initial thoughts were on Alex."
In two games since being loaned to the Oklahoma City Barons, he has a goal and is a plus 2. The native of Anjou, PQ, signed with Allen as free agent this season after playing in one game with the Americans last post-season as an amateur.
The Allen Americans are back in action this evening at 7:05 pm against the Quad City Mallards at Allen Event Center.
