Utica Comets News Release

The Utica Comets announced today that Alex Faust has been added to the Comets broadcast team for their inaugural season in the American Hockey League. All games, home and away, will be broadcast on the team's flagship radio station - FM 94.9 K-ROCK.

Comets voice, Brendan Burke, also broadcasts nationally televised college football games for Fox Sports. Faust will work alongside Burke, as well as handle play-by-play duties, for select games.

"Alex is a tremendous talent and we are very excited to have him as part of the team," said Burke. "His professionalism, enthusiasm and skill make him a perfect fit for the Comets broadcasts and will be a great addition for our fans."

Faust joins the Comets after two seasons as the voice of the Staten Island Yankees, short-season minor league affiliate of the New York Yankees. Previously, he spent several seasons calling college hockey, handling play-by-play work for Northeastern University, where he graduated in 2012 with a degree in Economics and Political Science.

While in college, the Brooklyn-native was recognized as one of the top up-and-coming broadcasters in the nation, becoming the first non-senior to win the Jim Nantz Award, presented annually to the nation's collegiate sports broadcaster.

This season, he will be the primary voice of Northeastern men's basketball and will continue to broadcast college hockey on a fill-in basis for several schools in New England.
