
Albuquerque Acquires Coleman, Waives Johnson

GREENVILLE, S.C., December 29 - The Albuquerque Thunderbirds have acquired forward Anthony Coleman from the NBA Development League available player pool and waived center Ken Johnson due to injury.
Coleman, 6-11, 215, is a rookie from Long Beach State. He was selected by the Fayetteville Patriots in the eighth round (58th overall) of the 2005 NBA D-League Draft and was waived by the Patriots on November 11. He averaged 8.2 points and 5.0 rebounds in 17 games as a senior at Long Beach State. He played his first two years of college basketball at Xavier.
Johnson was selected by the T-Birds in the third round (22nd overall) of the 2005 D-League Draft. He has played in 11 games (nine starts), averaging 28.7 minutes, 10.2 points and 4.7 rebounds. His 2.2 blocked shots per game leads the league.
Coleman is expected to meet the team in Roanoke and be in uniform for Friday's game.
