BIG FRIDAY: A matchup between Fort Worth and Arkansas highlights a full slate of games in the D-League on Friday. Both the Flyers and RimRockers trail league-leading Florida by one-half game. The Flame continues its road trip at Fayetteville on Friday.
BACK TO MINNESOTA: The Minnesota Timberwolves recalled center Dwayne Jones from the Florida Flame on Wednesday. While on assignment to the D-League, Jones played in 10 games for the Flame (nine starts), averaging 9.7 points and 11.6 rebounds.
ASSIGNMENT INFO REMINDER...Each NBA team can designate two players in either their first or second year to their D-League affiliate...A player may be designated up to three times in a season...An assigned player continues to earn his NBA salary and is included on his NBA team's roster (Inactive List) while playing in the D-League.
GUARD'S HOUSE: The Roanoke Civic Center turned out to be the house of Dazzle guards Anthony Grundy and Will Bynum on Wednesday. The Roanoke tandem combined to score 58 points. Grundy, the league's leading scorer, had 32. Bynum scored 12 of his 26 in the fourth quarter.
LUCAS LIGHTS UP: Tulsa guard John Lucas filled up the Austin Convention Center nets Wednesday night, converting 11-of-14 field goal attempts and scoring 30 points. He was 6-of-6 from behind the three-point line.
BACK WITH A VENGEANCE: After being forced to sit out while recovering from a bout of strep throat, Austin forward Marcus Fizer has come back strong. The former first-round NBA draft pick scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Austin snapped a four-game losing skid on Wednesday by defeating Tulsa.
NASCAR LEGEND IN LITTLE ROCK: NASCAR Nextel Cup star Mark Martin will be available for autographs and photos at Alltel Arena from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. CT when the Arkansas RimRockers are host to the Fort Worth Flyers on Friday.
