
Fayetteville Acquires Hawkins, Waives Hurt

GREENVILLE, S.C., December 29 - The Fayetteville Patriots have acquired guard Cliff Hawkins from the NBA Development League available player pool and waived guard Carlos Hurt.
Hawkins, 6-1, 187, played professionally in France for Stade Clermontois and in the CBA for the Yakima Sun Kings last season, where he finished among league leaders with 6.1 assists per game. In 27 games (11starts) for Yakima, he averaged 12.0 points and 3.6 rebounds.
Hawkins played collegiately at the University of Kentucky, where he played in 126 games, averaging 6.6 points, 1.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.6 steals.
Hurt played in 11 games (10 starts) for Fayetteville, averaging 31.5 minutes, 8.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.4 assists.
