
Alberth Martinez Powers Missions to 8-6 Win

FRISCO, TEXAS (August 9, 2015) - Alberth Martinez knocked two home runs and drove in four RBI as the San Antonio Missions took the series finale, 8-6, over the Frisco RoughRiders on Sunday night at Dr Pepper Ballpark. The two teams split the four-game set.
Derek Holland made a rehab start with Frisco and pitched 3 1/3 innings. The Texas Rangers southpaw allowed three runs on seven hits with five strikeouts. He threw 63 pitches, 43 for strikes, and maxed his fastball out at 94 MPH.
San Antonio got three runs on the board when Martinez hit a three-run shot onto the left field berm to give the Missions a 3-0 lead in the first inning.
The Riders plated their first run in the third inning when Ryan Cordell hit an RBI groundout to short that scored Zach Cone to make it 3-1.
Lewis Brinson tied the game in the fourth when he sent a two-run shot over the left field wall, his second at the Double-A level, extending his hit streak to nine games. Drew Robinson followed with a solo homer to give Frisco a 4-3 lead. Robinson is the Texas-League-leader with 17 home runs.
Martinez knocked a solo shot, his second homer of the night, in the fifth to tie the game at four. In the sixth, Luis Domoromo sent a single to left that scored Cory Spangenberg to break the tie, and the Missions plated two more runs in the inning to take a 7-4 lead.
Alex Burg hit a solo home run in the seventh and Luis Mendez scored on a wild pitch in the eighth, but the Riders fell to the Missions 8-6.
Lendy Castillo (2-2) picked up his second loss as he allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits with four strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings of work. James Needy (5-1) received his fifth win as he pitched 6 2/3 innings and allowed five runs on six hits with eight strikeouts. Eury De La Rosa tossed the final two frames to earn his first save.
The Frisco RoughRiders are scheduled for an off day on Monday after 26 consecutive games. The team will return to action on Tuesday for a six-game homestand against Tulsa and Springfield.
