HERSHEY, PA - Francois Bouchard scored a goal and added two assists as the Hershey Bears defeated the Albany River Rats 4-1 Saturday night at the Giant Center.

The Bears jumped out to a 3-1 lead on second period goals from Andrew Gordon and Oskar Osala, and Boyd Kane added an empty-netter in the closing minute to seal the Hershey victory.

Albany out-shot the Bears 12-3 in the third period, but goaltender Jason Bacashihua and the Hershey defense fought off the River Rats comeback bid.

Gordon's game-winner, assisted by Bouchard, came midway through the second period on a goal-mouth scramble during a Bears power play. Bouchard earned his third point of the night at 18:11 of the frame, finding Osala from behind the River Rats net for a two-goal cushion.

Pat Dwyer gave Albany a 1-0 lead 12:25 into the contest on an unassisted, short-handed tally. The River Rats captain forced a turnover in his own end and raced down the ice on a breakaway for his team-high fifth goal, and second shorthanded marker, of the season. Bouchard knotted the game with 38.5 seconds left in the first period, finishing-off a beautiful set-up from Mathieu Perreault on a close-range odd-man rush.

Bears goalie Jason Bacashihua stopped 22-of-23 shots to earn the win as Hershey improved to _ on the season. Albany goaltender Justin Peters blocked 18-of-21 shots and took the loss, as the River Rats fell to 5-5-0-1 on the year. Albany out-shot the Bears 23-21 in the contest and went 0-for-4 on the power play; Hershey was 1-for-4 on the man advantage.

Albany returns to the Times Union Center on Wednesday, November 4th to faceoff with the Binghamton Senators at 7:00 p.m. River Rats 2009-10 season and flex ticket packages are now on sale at the River Rats executive offices at the Times Union Center, by calling (518) 487-2244 or by logging onto www.albanyriverrats.com.
