Bears Sign Morgan, Recall Holtby

HERSHEY - The 2009 Calder Cup Champion HERSHEY BEARS announced today that center Gavin Morgan has been signed to a player tryout contract. HERSHEY also announced Saturday that goaltender Braden Holtby has been recalled from South Carolina (ECHL). The announcements were made today by BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst.

Morgan, 33, scored 10 goals and assisted on 23 others while playing for HERSHEY during the 2003-04 season. At the time of recall, Morgan had four points in six games playing for Reading (ECHL) this season. He participated in HERSHEY'S training camp this past September, and will wear number 17 for the BEARS Saturday night.

Holtby, 20, has a 2-1-0 record for HERSHEY this season, earning his first professional shutout October 9 at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. The Lloydminster, SK native also has 1-1-1 record for South Carolina (ECHL) this season.
