Albany Devils Send Clermont & Haczyk to Kalamazoo

ALBANY, N.Y. - Goaltender Maxime Clermont has been reassigned by the New Jersey Devils to the Kalamazoo Wings (ECHL), while Brian Haczyk has been loaned by the Albany Devils to the Wings. The announcement was made by Albany General Manager Chris Lamoriello.

Clermont, 19, is about to begin his first professional season after spending the last four years with Gatineau of the QMJHL. Last year, he appeared in 48 regular season games and 21 playoff outings, leading Gatineau to the league finals. In 2010-11, he posted a 28-10-5 record with a 2.55 goals-against average and a .896 save percentage. A native of Montreal, Clermont was drafted by New Jersey 174th overall during the 2010 NHL Draft.

Haczyk, 24, is also entering his first professional season. In 2010-11, he appeared in three outings with the Trenton Devils (ECHL), registering an assist. A four-year letterwinner at the Niagara University, Haczyk played in 35 games for the Purple Eagles last season and had 28 goals, 17 assists for a career-best 45 points. He finished second on the team for goals and points and was tied for first for power-play goals (10). The Secaucus, N.J. native, Haczyk was named to the 2011 Atlantic Hockey First Team.

The Albany Devils begin the season at home against the Springfield Falcons on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. The first 5,000 fans will receive a free magnet schedule courtesy of Realty USA.
