
AirHogs Win 2-1 In Extra Innings

Grand Prairie, TX (08.11.08) - The Grand Prairie AirHogs defeated the Shreveport Sports in the bottom of the tenth with a Billy Munoz RBI single for the 2-1 victory. This is the eighth one run win of the season for the AirHogs over the Sports.
Shreveport got on the board first in the top of the third. Vince Blue grabbed the sacrifice fly to left allowing Chris Smith to score, putting the Sports ahead 1-0.
However, in the the bottom of the third Aaron Garza answered for the AirHogs with a solo homer blasted over the left field wall to tie the game at 1-1.
In the bottom of the tenth, Billy Munoz smashed a RBI single to right bring in Drew Holder from second allowing Grand Prairie to earn the 2-1 win.
Grand Prairie stranded ten runners on base, while the Sports stranded eight.
Jose Cordero started for Grand Prairie pitching 5.2 innings with four hits, one runs, three walks, and four strikeouts. James Morrison (3-1) earned the win pitching 1.0 innings with no hits, no runs, no walks, and one strikeout.
Justin Philips started for Shreveport pitching 7.0 innings with five hits, one run, three walks, and six strikeouts. Josh Bone (1-1) earned the loss pitching 2.0 innings with three hits, one run, one walk, and one strikeout.
Grand Prairie continues its series at home against Shreveport Tuesday, August 12 at 7:05p.m.
