
AirHogs to Host Amer. Assoc. All-Star Game

Grand Prairie, TX. The Grand Prairie AirHogs will proudly host the 2009 American Association All-Star Game at QuikTrip Park at Grand Prairie this Tuesday, July 21st. The league's best players will face-off in a North Division vs. South Division match-up, complete with a pre-game Home Run Derby and Skills Competition. An array of festivities will take place leading up to and during the event at QuikTrip Park, including a VIP Party at the new Cowboys Stadium on the eve of the mid-summer classic, and a pre-game concert and post-game fireworks show on game night.
Gates open at QuikTrip Park on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. with an OPEN MEDIA SESSION during batting practice from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. The 2009 Home Run Derby will kick-off at 5:30 p.m. followed by the Skills Competition. A pre-game live music performance will begin at 5 p.m. featuring the lively jams of fan-favorite "Mr. Rock N' Roll and All-Star Autograph Sessions will take place on the concourse from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. Pre-game ceremonies will begin at 7:00 pm, with the first pitch set for 7:35 pm. Following the game, there will be a fire-dancing performance leading into the FIREWORKS show, followed by a post-game celebration at Whiskey Charlie's Sport's Bar and Grill.
Monday night's eve-of-the-game VIP Party at the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington will take place from 7 p.m. - 11 p.m. and host the 2009 North and South Division All-Stars as well as American Association league executives, VIPs, and invited guests. Tickets ($150.00 each) are available to the public for purchase by calling the AirHogs front office at 972.504.9383 and will include guided tours of the brand-new $1.15 billion stadium.
2009 American Association All-Star Game Notes:
Former Texas Ranger and current AirHogs skipper Pete Incaviglia will manage the South Division All-Star squad which will feature six AirHogs players including two starters, 3B Cesar Nicolas and OF Aaron Garza, and six players from the neighboring Fort Worth Cats. In the 2009 season alone, eight players from the American Association have been purchased by Major League clubs. Two of the eight hailed from the Grand Prairie AirHogs - SS David Espinosa (Seattle Mariners), P Luke Prihoda (New York Yankees).
