AirHogs Throttle Diablos

The Grand Prairie AirHogs scored early and often as they gave the Diablos a 25-4 loss at Cohen Stadium on Wednesday night. It is the eleventh straight loss for El Paso. Grand Priairie struck for 25 hits in the game and had five innings where they scored more than one run in the inning including a five run inning and a ten run inning.

The AirHogs started quickly and never looked back as they scored four runs in the first. El Paso was able to stick around for a little while scoring single runs in the first and second. The AirHogs added two more in the third which was immediately answered with two by the Diablos. From then on the AirHogs would show the Diablos no mercy. They scored the next 19 runs in a row which included a ten run seventh inning.

Dustin Birosak (0-1) made his first start for the Diablos and got roughed up going only four innings and allowed eight runs on ten hits. El Paso's Bull Pen didn't fare any better as they allowed 17 runs over the final five innings. Ryne Tacker (6-5) picked up the win and his second against the Diablos this season. He went seven innings and allowed just three earned runs on eight hits and eight strike outs.

El Paso's offense was outhit 25-11. Kyle Nichols led El Paso going 2-4 with an RBI and a double. J.D Reininger went 2-5 with an RBI double while El Paso newcomer Jeff Hulett went 2-3 with a walk. Grand Prairie's powerful offense was led by Daniel Berg who went 4-5 with two RBI while Greg Porter went 3-6 with two home runs and four RBI.

The Diablos will try to bring an end to their losing ways on Wednesday. They send Shaun Ellis 8-2, 4.73) to the mound against Grand Prairie's left hander Daniel Schmidt (2-4, 5.09). It is a Where's Waldo Wednesday as contestants who spot Waldo will win mystery prizes. Game time is set for 7:05. Fans can listen in online at www.diablos.com.
