On Wednesday, Patrick Sharp ran his scoring streak to eight games with a goal and an assist in Philadelphia's 4-2 win over Cincinnati... Worcester scored four times in the first period, then held on for a 4-3 win over Houston... Brad Winchester got the winner with 4:41 left, lifting Edmonton over Syracuse, 4-3... On Thursday, Manitoba defeated Utah, 2-1, with a pair of goals in the third period; the teams close down Winnipeg Arena on Saturday night.

LOOKING AHEAD:
Two of the hottest teams in the AHL meet at the Centrum Centre on Friday as Worcester entertains Manchester... The IceCats enter the weekend with five straight wins, and are perfect in four home starts this season... The Monarchs' record is unblemished at 7-0-0-0, with shutout victories in three of their last four... Manchester won the teams' first meeting this season, a 5-2 decision on Oct. 15... The clubs also met in the division semifinals of last year's playoffs, with the IceCats prevailing in six games... Brad Smyth has a point in seven straight games for the Monarchs; forward Peter Sejna and rookie defenseman Dennis Wideman are Worcester's top scorers with 10 points apiece.

Rochester meets up with Cincinnati at the HSBC Arena in Buffalo on Friday night... The Mighty Ducks swept a pair from the Amerks at Cincinnati Gardens two weeks ago, with Ilya Bryzgalov stopping 71 of 74 shots total... Jason Botterill has scored one-third of Rochester's 18 goals in eight games, while top prospects Thomas Vanek (one goal) and Daniel Paille (one assist) have struggled to find the scoresheet... The Ducks' AHL predecessors, the Cincinnati Swords, won the Calder Cup in 1973 as the Buffalo Sabres' affiliate, clinching the title with a win at the old Aud.

In-state rivals Bridgeport and Hartford meet up on Saturday night with the Wolf Pack looking to extend their perfect 7-0-0-0 start, and the Sound Tigers simply in search of a goal after being shut out in three straight outings... Bridgeport has been outscored 16-1 in four road contests this season, while Hartford has allowed a total of seven goals in seven games... The Tigers are the only team to score more than one goal in a game against the Pack this year, in a 3-2 loss on Oct. 23... Hartford's Dominic Moore had a six-game scoring streak snapped in Monday's 1-0 shootout win over Houston.
