AHL Announces Suspensions

March 8, 2011 - American Hockey League (AHL) News Release


SPRINGFIELD, Mass. ... The American Hockey League today announced the following suspensions:

- Providence Bruins defenseman Andrew Bodnarchuk has been suspended for three (3) games, Providence right wing Kirk MacDonald has been suspended for three (3) games and Providence center Zach Hamill has been suspended for one (1) game as a result of their actions in a game vs. Bridgeport on Mar. 6.

All three players were suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 28.1 (supplementary discipline).

Bodnarchuk, MacDonald and Hamill will all miss Providence's game Wednesday (Mar. 9) at Manchester. Bodnarchuk and MacDonald will also miss Providence's games Friday (Mar. 11) vs. Bridgeport and Saturday (Mar. 12) at Portland.

- Peoria Rivermen defenseman Brennan Evans has been suspended for four (4) games as a result of his actions in a game vs. Chicago on Mar. 5. Evans was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 28.1 (supplementary discipline).

Evans will miss Peoria's games tonight (Mar. 8) vs. Grand Rapids, Wednesday (Mar. 9) at Chicago, Friday (Mar. 11) at Chicago and Sunday (Mar. 13) at Milwaukee.

- Norfolk Admirals left wing Chris Durno has been suspended for three (3) games as a result of his actions in a game at Hershey on Mar. 5. Durno was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 28.1 (supplementary discipline).

Durno will miss Norfolk's games Wednesday (Mar. 9) vs. Binghamton, Friday (Mar. 11) vs. Binghamton and Sunday (Mar. 13) at Hershey.

- Hershey Bears left wing Andrew Kozek has been suspended for two (2) games as a result of his actions in a game while playing for the Chicago Wolves on Mar. 4 vs. Milwaukee. Kozek was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 28.1 (supplementary discipline).

Kozek, who has since been acquired by Hershey, will miss the Bears' games tonight (Mar. 8) at Portland and Wednesday (Mar. 9) at Worcester.

- San Antonio Rampage defenseman Maxim Goncharov and Texas Stars defenseman Brad Lukowich have been suspended for one (1) game each as a result of their actions in a game between the teams on Mar. 4. Both players were suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 28.1 (supplementary discipline).

Goncharov will miss San Antonio's game on Thursday (Mar. 10) vs. Oklahoma City. Lukowich will miss Texas's game on Friday (Mar. 11) at Syracuse.
