. Banana Split. The Reading Phillies managed a four-game split with the Aeros Sunday afternoon at Canal Park, breaking through with an 11-3 victory. Starter Anthony Reyes struggled in his second Akron rehab start, allowing a pair of runs in the first inning followed by seven of the season-high eight scored in the second. The two teams exchanged runs in the fourth and Akron rallied for a pair in the ninth but it was too late for a comeback. Reading starter Michael Cisco (3-7) earned the win in his seven frames by retiring his final 12 batters while Reyes (0-1) took the loss, permitting nine runs on six hits and four walks in 1.2 innings pitched.
. King Henry. The Aeros announced Monday that outfielder Jordan Henry won this week's Akron Aeros Player of the Week Award. The 22-year-old batted .571 (12-for-21) with six walks and eight runs in six games, increasing his Double-A batting average 55 points. Cleveland selected Henry in the seventh round of the June 2009 Draft out of the University of Mississippi.
. Glory Road. Eastern League All-Star RHP Paolo Espino earned the promotion to Class AAA Columbus today, clearing the way for LHP Matt Packer on the Akron roster. Espino was 9-4 with a 4.00 ERA in 21 games (15 starts), leading the team with 92 strikeouts. Packer will wear #38 in his start today and led the Class A Midwest League with a 1.60 ERA so far this year.
