Aeros Captain DiSalvatore Earns All-Star Award

HOUSTON --- Houston Aeros captain Jon DiSalvatore has been named to the American Hockey League's Second All-Star Team, as voted by AHL coaches, players and media in each of the league's 30 member cities.

DiSalvatore, 31 (3/30/81) leads the Aeros with 57 points (26-31=57) and 12 power play goals in 70 games this season. He is the only Aeros player to have appeared in every game this season. He has notched 20 goals or more in each of his nine AHL seasons. DiSalvatore became the Aeros AHL club leader in goals on March 3, 2012. He made his Minnesota Wild debut on Dec. 28, 2011 in Nashville, skating 14:27 with two shots, two penalty minutes (PIM) and one hit.

The Providence College alum led the Aeros with 61 points (28-33=61) in 80 games last season, while tying for the team lead in post-season goals (seven) as Houston advanced to the Calder Cup Finals. He played in all 24 playoff games, collecting 12 points (7-5=12) and 12 PIM. His goal in Game Seven of the Western Conference Finals catapulted the Aeros to the Calder Cup Finals.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound native of Bangor, Maine was San Jose's fourth-round pick (No. 104 overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

Each All-Star Team member will receive a custom-designed crystal award in recognition of his selection to the 2011-12 AHL First and Second All-Star Teams.
