Palmieri Named to 2011-12 AHL First All-Star Team

Syracuse, NY (April 5, 2012) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the American Hockey League has named right wing Kyle Palmieri to the 2011-12 AHL First All-Star Team.

Palmieri, 21, has collected 55 points (32g, 23a) in 46 games with the Crunch this season. The second-year pro led the AHL in goals scored for much of the season, he now sits in third with 32 goals scored.The Smithtown, NY, native also appeared in 18 games with the Anaheim Ducks this season totaling seven points on four goals and three assists. The right winger represented the Eastern Conference at the AHL All-Star Classic for the second consecutive year and was named the Reebok/AHL Player of the Week for the week ending October 16, 2011. Palmieri was drafted by the Ducks in the first round, 26th overall, of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Palmieri joins Andy Delmore (2005-06) as the second Syracuse Crunch AHL First All-Star Team selection.

Palmieri and the Crunch travel to Bridgeport for a tilt with the Sound Tigers on April 6 before heading to Hershey to face the Bears on April 7. The Crunch return home for the regular season home finale on April 14 for a match-up against the Connecticut Whale.
