
Admirals Sign Helperl and Laing

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. â Today, the Norfolk Admirals announced that they have re-signed defenseman Jeff Helperl and have signed forward Quintin Laing to AHL standard players' contracts. In keeping with club policy terms of the agreements were not disclosed.
"We're very happy to have signed both players," said Admirals General Manager Al MacIsaac. "Jeff and Quintin were definitely factors in helping the Admirals capture the South Division title last season, and we're glad to have them back this year."
Helperl, 27, skated in 56 games for Norfolk last season, recording nine assists (nine points) and 109 penalty minutes. In 101 games over two seasons with the Admirals, he has posted 1+17=18 points and 191 PIM.
Laing, 23, played in 61 contests for the Admirals this past season, tallying 21 points (6+15) and 32 PIM. He has appeared in 71 career regular season games for Norfolk, posting six goals, 16 assists (22 points) and 42 PIM.
