
Boston Bruins sign prospect Samuelsson

The Boston Bruins announced today that they have signed right wing Martin Samuelsson to a three-year contract. In keeping with club policy, terms of the contract were not released.
"Martin is a terrific skater and has progressed very well since he was drafted," said Bruins General Manager Mike O'Connell. "He is an excellent prospect and we look forward to seeing him in training camp this fall where we feel that he has a chance to make our lineup this season."
The 20-year-old Samuelsson was the Bruins' second pick, 27th overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. He has played the last two seasons with Hammarby of the Swedish Elite League. The 6'2", 200-pound native of Upplands-Vasby, Sweden had 7-6-13 totals and 18 PIM in 30 games with Hammarby in 2001-02. Samuelsson posted 20-10-30 totals and 26 PIM in 54 career games with Hammarby from 2000-02. He also suited up for Team Sweden in the 2001 and 2002 World Junior Championships.
