Milwaukee Admirals News Release
Rosemont, IL--The Milwaukee Admirals two-game winning streak and four game points streak came to an end Sunday afternoon as the Chicago Wolves knocked off the Admirals 4-3 at Allstate Arena.
Chicago has defeated the Admirals in all three meetings by one goal.
The Wolves led 4-0 after two periods before the Admirals made it interesting.
Milwaukee's furious comeback started with a power play goal from the top-goal scorer in the AHL, Linus Klasen. Klasen fired a wrist shot from the right circle off the left post and into the net just 52 seconds into the third period. Blake Geoffrion and Jon Blum notched the assists. Klasen has seven goals on the season.
Milwaukee's Gabriel Bourque scored his first career goal at 3:22 of the third when goalie Edward Pasquale misplayed the puck behind his net. The puck came to Bourque who stepped from behind the net and jammed the puck into the cage.
With 3:58 to play, Geoffrion fed a pass into the slot where Andreas Thuresson slapped it into the net for his third of the season. Geoffrion and Klasen recorded the helpers.
The Wolves put the game out of reach in a span of 3:49 in the second period. Jared Ross scored with a slapshot from above the left circle at 13:59 to make it 2-0 in favor of Chicago. Former Admirals forward Darren Haydar scored at 15:33 when his shot from the left corner bounced off goalie Chet Pickard's stick into the net. At 17:48 Andre Deveaux tallied a power play goal to give the Wolves a 4-0 lead after two periods.
Chicago's Fredrik Pettersson started the scoring with a power play goal at 5:41 of the first period. Ross fed a pass from behind Milwaukee's net to Pettersson at the right circle for a quick shot that eluded Pickard.
