Admirals Fall to Wolves 2-1

Rosemont, IL-Forced to play without two out of their top three scorers from the regular season, the Milwaukee Admirals put forth a valiant effort but fell 2-1 to the Chicago Wolves Friday night at the All-State Arena. The win evened the series at one game apiece in the best of seven West Division Semifinal.
Matt Ellison and Josh Langfeld did not play in the game for the Ads, as Ellison was out with an injury and Langfeld was called up to Nashville earlier in the day.
The Wolves jumped out to a 1-0 lead at the 9:30 mark of the first when Kevin Doell grabbed a loose rebound and had a wide open net. Chicago defenseman Joel Kwiatkowski fired the original shot that Pekka Rinne made the save on, but was unable to control. The puck trickled to the right and Doell got to it before any Admirals could.
Neither team was able to get on the board in the second period, despite scoring chances on both sides. The best of those chances came when the Wolves Brett Sterling and Joe Motzko skated in the Admirals zone two-on-one. Sterling held the puck until the last second and sauced a pass over to Motzko who appeared to have an open net, but Rinne slide to the post in the nick of time and deflected the shot into the corner.
Chicago outshot the Admirals 10-4 in the second period.
The Admirals would tie it up when John Laliberte beat Ondrej Pavelec with a one-time from the left face-off dot at 5;27. Ads' d-man Cody Franson rimmed the puck from and his defensive partner Nolan Yonkman pinched on the left point and chipped a pass to Kevin Ulanski who flipped the puck to Laliberte.
The Wolves struck right back thought, when Jesse Schultz got around the Milwaukee defense and slid the puck between Rinne legs just 27 seconds after Laliberte's tally.
The Admirals had golden opportunity to tie the score when Jordan LaValle was sent to the box for holding with just 1:48 remaining the game. The Admirals played the last minute with an extra attacker, but could get the equalizer and the Wolves evened the series at one game apiece.
The series now shifts to the Bradley Center for games three and four of the series on Sunday, April 20th at 5:00 pm and on Wednesday, April 23rd at 7:00 pm.
