Admirals Earn Seventh Straight Win

November 19, 2015 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Milwaukee Admirals News Release

Milwaukee, WI--Freddy Gaudreau's goal with 8:32 left in the third period broke a 3-3 tie and led the Admirals to a 5-3 win over the Chicago Wolves in Amtrak Rivalry action Wednesday night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

The win also extended the Admirals winning streak to seven games and their point streak to eight.

With Milwaukee on their sixth power-play of the night Gaudreau received the puck at the top of the right circle and took three strides toward the Chicago goal before firing a wrister that found its way through traffic and past Wolves' goalie Jordan Binnington.

Gaudreau now has three goals on the season, all on the power-play, and its one shy of his goal total from all of last season.

Max Reinhart iced the game for Milwaukee with an empty-net goal with six seconds to play.

After a scoreless first period, the two teams combined for six goals in the second, beginning with a power-play marker by the Admirals Viktor Arvidsson just 1:42 into the middle frame. That extended Arvidsson's point streak to ten games, tying the longest streak in the AHL this season.

Max Reinhart would put the Admirals up a pair when he tapped in a puck that was trickling behind Chicago netminder Jordan Binnington. Cody Bass and Steve Moses earned the assists on the play.

Less than three minutes later the Ads took a 3-0 lead off a one-timer by Eric Robinson that beat Binnington to the short side with assists going to Jamie Devane and Conor Allen.

As quickly as the Admirals built their lead, they saw it evaporate as Chicago picked up goals from Ty Rattie at 7:14, Danny Kristo at the 10:46 mark, and then Chris Butler evened the score with just 40 seconds left in the period on his first goal of the year.

Arvidsson finished the night with a goal and two assists to pace the offense, while Reinhart (2g) and Gaudreau (1g-1a) each picked up two points. Juuse Saros finished the night with 37 saves for Milwaukee to pick up this sixth win in a row.

Milwaukee will go for their eighth straight win on Friday night when they host the Rockford IceHogs at 7 pm at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
